Autodesk is proud to sponsor the Formula SAE® and Baja SAE® competitions. As part of our sponsorship, we are offering the Autodesk® Inventor® Design Communication Award to the team whose exemplary Design Report demonstrates the best written & graphic communication of their engineering and design process. Winning teams will receive copies of Autodesk Inventor Professional Software.

Award Criteria: Communication, both written and graphical, of the team’s design and engineering process. Emphasis should be placed on communicating the engineering and design intent through description and drawings.

Judging Process: Teams must submit a copy of the actual Design Report that they submit for the competition to Autodesk, in order to be eligible for this award. The design report submitted must conform to the current FSAE and Baja SAE rules. Autodesk staff will evaluate the Design Reports for engineering excellence and communication of the team’s design, both written and graphical. That will comprise 80% of the scoring. The vehicle will then be evaluated at the competition to see how closely the team executed the vehicle depicted in their Design Report. Execution of the specifications of the design report will comprise the final 20% of the score. The Autodesk judging staff will then arrive at a consensus decision at the competition.
