SAE Design Competitions

Formula SAE, Baja SAE, and Formula Student

SAEAutodesk is proud to sponsor the Formula SAE®, Baja SAE®, and Formula Student design competitions, where students gain real-world experience in conceiving, designing, building, and competing with single-seat formula-style racing cars and off-road vehicles. The competitions are demanding and intensive, requiring a high level of collaboration and a year-round commitment from all team members. It's no wonder many employers regard these competitions as scouting grounds for some of the best future engineers.

Autodesk offers its full support for the students participating in these competitions. Teams are encouraged to download and use Autodesk Inventor Professional to design, visualize, test, and optimize their cars before they ever fabricate their first part. Advanced capabilities within Inventor like Design Accelerators for gear, chain, and coil design and Frame Generator for frame design will allow teams to spend less time modeling geometry and more time focusing on the engineering principles that go into their vehicle design.
